In Latin., Script: Part I (ff. 1r-8r): Written in Gothica Cursiva Antiquior (Anglicana) mainly by two hands. Part II (ff. 9r-43v): Two hands, both writing Anglicana. Part III (ff. 44r-78v): Several hands, all writing Anglicana Currens and highly abbreviated: the first (ff. 44r-55v) is marked by lengthened and bold or decorated ascenders on the top line., Part II: Red paragraph marks; red plain 2-line initials. Part III: Red paragraph marks in some sections. Red plain 2-line initials (3-line initial f. 44r), some with flourishing, and guide-letters in artt. 5-8. Logical diagrams on ff. 44v and 47r. Hand A has curious line-fillers and his explicits are written in a dotted rectangular frame., and Binding: Early limp vellum, with a bone button in the middle of the rear cover.

Manuscript on two fragments of a single parchment leaf, now crudely patched together in their original format. Contains lines of text from a Prayer "ad clericum faciendum"; Antiphon and Psalm; Part of an "ordinatio monachi"; and Prayer "ad barbas tonendas". The manuscript presumably originated in one of the episcopal seats of the period and perhaps in one of the monastic cathedrals

In Latin., Script: copied by two scribes: A copied ff. 1r-95r (with the exception of f. 40) in Gothica Cursiva Antiquior Libraria; and B copied ff. 97r-272r in the same type of script, but closer to Anglicana., Decoration: Illuminated initials in red, purple, blue, and gold leaf. Elaborate marginal vine-and-floral ornamentation at beginnings of chapters in red, blue, green, brown, and gold leaf. Occasional multi-colored pictures and diagrams. They appear to have been removed from a binding.

In Latin., Script: Apparently written by a single hand in Gothica Cursiva Libraria (Secretary), retaining many Anglicana features. Two-compartment a is rarely used; note the thorn-shape of y (except on line 1, where the letter has the normal shape), and the semicircular abbreviation stroke with a dot in its centre., No decoration., The lower section of the roll now covers one line of text of the upper section, but originally the two sections were attached to each other the other way and no text was covered., and The top end of the roll is cut in the form of a pointed arch and a cord is inserted for tying up the roll.

In Latin., Script: Written in fine gothic bookhand., Eight of the original ten historiated initials survive. The initials are pink and blue with white filigree and dots on f. 7r incorporating intertwining leaves in pink, blue, green and orange; the figures predominantly orange, and purple with some pink, blue and green, on elaborately tooled gold, set against square grounds, quartered blue and red, with diapering. Each initial with a lavishly ornamented full border incorporating spiraling foliage, large oak leaves, flowers, knots, grotesques, and quatrefoils framing additional figures. 2-line initials for Psalms, pink and/or blue, with white filigree and dots, filled with spiraling ivy, large leaves and dots, blue, green and orange, occasionally a fleur-de-lis, flower, or diaper pattern, on gold, against pink and blue grounds, with white filigree and dots, most connected to bar borders, pink, blue, orange and gold with floral, ivy and grotesque terminals. 1-line initials for verses, gold, thickly edged in black, against irregular pink and blue grounds with white filigree and dots. Many varied line fillers in red and blue., Lower right corners of ff. 42 and 85 excised., and Binding: Sixteenth century, perhaps at Oxford. Caught-up sewing on twelve tawed, slit strap supports, only four of them laced into beech boards, the others cut off at the edges of the spine. The spine is square and the bands prominent and defined. Covered in dark brown calf, blind-tooled with two concentric frames of medallion heads and arabesques, with thistles in the outer corners of the inner panel and an ornament with a cherub's head on it in the center. Nails for catches but no marks of them on the leather, stubs of two straps on the upper board.

Eleven 5- to 4-line initials (ff. 139v, 158v, 161r, 162r, 163r, 163v, 164r, 165v, 168r, 169v, 176v), gold, edged in black against a cusped ground, quartered in blue and pink, with white highlights and floral hair-spray. 3-line initials, blue with red penwork throughout. Capitals alternating red and blue. Rubrics throughout. Red and blue line-fillers in litany., and Binding: 19th-20th centuries. Brown leather case, blind-tooled. Red edges. Smells like a Middleton binding.
